After a few years of dealing with our old design, we got tired of the price tags that we use for our apparel in the store. We cleaned things up and tied in our woodgrain pattern from the footwear room walls.
You may have noticed a new face around the store and the website in the past month or so. Herve is our new design intern/illustrator/model and has been helping us push through a lot of work lately. Yesterday we took him out into the city and shot him, so to speak. That is… we have a new lookbook coming your way featuring all of our new cut and see tees. Herve is also one of those dudes who can draw pretty much anything without reference… so don’t be surprised if you see some illustrations coming your way on new UBIQ product. Herve.. thanks for the help and welcome to the jungle.
What a CRAZY Home Opener Event!!! Thank you to all of you who made it out to UBIQ Walnut St. and partied with us as we listened to the Phils game, ate tons of hot dogs and raffled off our Vans X MLB X UBIQ Phillies Chukkas!
The crowd filling in as DJ Shorty Wop was providing the music upstairs at the Heineken Green Room.
Meanwhile, downstairs out in front of the shop, we were doing a little behind the scenes talk with our man Zaid from Mitchell & Ness. Mitchell & Ness came through big time and supported the whole event with a fully stocked pop-up shop on our second floor next to the bar and DJ! Stay tuned to the UBIQ blog to see the video we were putting together!

Here’s another shot of our promo tee we did with Vans. It also came in red and was the THE item of the day. Everybody was rocking this as soon they got it. And being that it was FREE with every purchase, you couldn’t really beat the price.

The fine people over at Adidas just sent us this new NBA Platinum ball shoe. We are among 6 retailers nationwide to recieve them and each city has it’s own respective basketball team logo/colorway. The Ubiq team was in OHIO recently (Don’t ask what we were doing, you will see soon enough). And, well some of us are huge Star Wars Fans. We got a chance to see the crazy STAR WARS IN CONCERT show. This is one of the better, new concert performance ideas to come along in a while. Getting to watch clips of the movie and watch them play live music was pretty amazing.
Talk about “May the force be with you”. There was a crazy light show pretty much the entire show that had flames shooting out of the stage at one point. They showed actual clips from all six movies coordinated with the music, the entire time.
There were even STAR WARS props from the actual movies in the house. We asked one of the curators about the pieces and they told us that they take out something like 2 million dollars worth of insurance out on some of the pieces. Check out the Han Solo frozen in the carbonite! CRAZY!
They had a 60ft HD screen playing the clips, and the image was amazing. It made the experience unforgettable. Hearing the music live and watching the film at the same time made you really feel that Star Wars magic.
