Surely but slowly we’re recovering from our very turnt up party last night with Decades Hat Co and Najeeb Sheikh. First to post a recap is 1990 Magazine who shot all in polaroid. Check out the rest on Decades’ Tumblr here.

You didn’t think we’d have a special exclusive release without a party did ya? Along with the special UBIQ exclusives for Decades Hat Co and Najeeb Sheikh, there’ll be live performances with YellowGirlMob, Great Outdoors, and Grande Marshall. Of course, a party ain’t a party without pizza, Pabst beer, Vita Coco and rum snow cones! More info here – see ya’ll Saturday…
Now that we’ve finally recovered from this weekend, we got some pics from the Roots Picnic. Were you there? Was your favorite performance? Here’s some of our favorite sightings!
Ladies, represented well. Really, really well.
Trinidad James & Joey Badass warm up with a game of B-ball.
As hot as it was, Macklemore was wearing that leather jacket. Guess some things never go out of style, was it your grandma’s coat?
Our stock guy Nasan and Ariel from our sister pop-up store, Mitchell & Ness on left, Chill Moody and a friend on the right.
Joey Badass set things off the right way for a 90-degree concert — with Supersoaker-toting hype men!
The undoing of Gas Lamp Killer’s hair, very reflective of his set which he completely annihilated by the way.
Turns out his hair does better under air-conditioned conditions, like the well-ventilated VIP area. Check out Herve, trying to not sweat.
DJ Premier showin who’s boss, and reminding the crowd to let Big L Rest in… yeah, you know.
Our photo director Kelton took a food break, looks like he really enjoyed the mac and cheese.
Atrak in the flesh, on stage.
Atrak, in digital cutouts, in the crowd.
Atrak on the tables, literally — and from behind. Yeah we were everywhere.
Of course, Philly’s own and Fool’s Gold signed rapper Grande Marshall came through to bless the crowd (peep the Decades 19XX collab hat with UBIQ on his head, yessir), and of course more girls.
More UBIQ hats, more UBIQ employees.
Finally the grand finale of the night… The Legendary Roots Crew!
Hope you enjoyed it as much as we did. S/O to Kelton & Dee for the pics.
Last Thursday the Grilled Cheesteak Party went down at UBIQ, with Reebok, Mitchell & Ness, CYL Creative Group and Sling Shox to help celebrate the re-release of the iconic Reebok’s Shaq Attaq sneakers. (more…)
Now that the lineup’s been announced, how do we feel about it? Some interesting acts for sure, but they’ll probably be spread out over two days in an arrangement that mixes up hip hop and rock, electro and whatever genre Solange is now. While the hodgeodge of different kinds of music is great for opening up audiences of one to another, that’s alot of standing around in hot weather. And since nobody wants to lose their palce, it’s kinda hard to leave and comeback, even if you were given the show schedule. What do you guys think? Worth it?
This Thursday, April 18 at UBIQ from 7-11PM, our friends at Reebok, CYL Creative Group, A Good Story, Cool Mentality and The McKenzie Estate are throwing a party to celebrate the re-release of the iconic Reebok Shaq Attaq sneakers, the theme of course inspired by another icon – the Philly cheesesteak. #yum
Invited guests will be the first to get an exclusive look at the Reebok® Shaq Attaq, while indulging in some irresistible bites by Lord of the Kitchen, drinks by Philadelphia’s own Famjuice and the musical sounds of DJ YS of Stay Wit It DJ. Also, in tribute to the re-release of this iconic style, featured sponsor SlingShox™, has teamed up with Philadelphia artist and founder of The DNTN Brand, Don Scott to design a limited edition SlingShox™ band, which are interchangeable silicone watchband accessories that work with GShock watches. In addition, a NBA 2k13 tournament will be held in the 2nd Floor Mitchell & Ness shop in which the winner will receive a pair of Shaq Attaqs. There’ll be many goodies, as each guest will receive giveaways courtesy of SlingShox™, Reebok®, Mitchell & Ness, Hot 107.9, The DNTN Brand and Cool Mentality. Yeah – Philly definitely knows how to throw a party!
This will be the official Philadelphia release event for the Reebok® Shaq Attaq, which is set to re-release nationwide on April 19, 2013. To learn more about the GCP Philadelphia event or to enter the NBA 2k13 please contact Ishmael Abrokwa at email@example.com. If you are entering the tournament, please include your full name, NBA2k13 ID, current NBA2k13 record, age and sneaker size.
This event is invite-only, but keep your eye on CYL’s twitter page here for your chance to attend.
Saturday night Ms. Badu came to Philly and UBIQ had the best seat in the house at the Electric Factory (Thanks Kevin!). Performing a plethora of her hits from Baduizm, Mama’s Gun, and both Amerykah albums as well as “Love of My Life” in which she and her band include a medley of classic rap songs. Now that we know the Ravens beat the 49ers, let’s talk about that other big game – you know the one with the Philly Street Shops. Thanks to our friends Corsa, Armory, Abakus, and Emerge for participating, and of course thanks to our presenters Hall of Fame. Everyone put up a good fight, but Team UBIQ came out victorious (as expected). Our good buddy Dee was back again to take flicks so check check check ‘em out. (more…)
See you there!
